Mobile Wallets
Apple introduced the open standard pkpass in mid 2012 together with a wallet solution to collect tickets and coupons in the same place on the iPhone mobile device. There are today several wallet solutions for different platforms, like Android, Windows phone, Blackberry as the pkpass has become de-facto standard in the world.
Instead of searching in the mailboxes, text messages and folders, all installed cards in pkpass format is automatically placed in the wallet at your phone. The cards is also interactive and can be instantly updated and even automatically visible at the right location and time.
The market
The coupon market is bigger than ever! The trend is that coupons continue to increase in use and more campaigns are initiated. Since 2010 the coupon market in Sweden and Europe has grown by 30%.
A digital coupon/card is produced, managed and distributed digitally.
There are basically three different types of digital coupons:
- SMS, text based
- HTML, image based
- Pkpass, wallet based
A digital coupon in pkpass-format is also prepared for real-time updates, which make it possible to change
the value or stamps after a part-redemption, which is directly visible for the consumer.
